YES-kids finish a watercolor and then...
Start another... Just not enough watercolor action, so on to the next one! The first one was putting down color and adding rubbing alcohol, then designing from the effects.
Second watercolor painting... "Shore Birds"... Artists chose from either a Sandpiper or a Seagull. Wonderful results!! Finished pics next week!

YEStudio has begun the Fall Session for 2015!
Hi, YES-kids, YES-parents and fans of Youthful Expressions Studio.
The 2015 Fall Session in going strong! We have almost finished our second project, so we need to catch up.
The first project was done in colored pencils. We have used this project several times, because it is a good way to get to know our new students and renew acquaintances with returnees. It's called "The Personality Cube". There are eight sections... every other one has the student's name, done in bubble or puff letters. The letters of their names are colored using the negative space method. Each remaining section contains things that the student likes and is involved with, such as sports, food, activity, pets etc. Pictures will be posted as they are finished.

Charcoal/Graphite - Still Life
The second project is done in charcoal/graphite. This time, we are doing a still life of a glass jar and a small pitcher. Students sat at different angles to the still life, so their renderings will be different from each other. It is quite a challenge and the YES-kids are certainly doing it proud! These are the 'in progress' pictures. Check back for the final pictures...
